Donate to a Specific Fund. To earmark your contribution for one of the funds below, simply note the name of the fund on the memo line of your check, or on the description field of the on-line form: click here to make a secure on-line donation.
Michael Schwartz Research Fund. Established in 1998, contributions to this Fund are used to support medical research into the cause of, and a cure for, brain and spinal cord tumors. Scott Reisser Memorial Scholarship Fund. This newly-endowed scholarship fund will award up to two scholarships each year to young brain tumor survivors who are applying to or attending college. The Fund was established in memory of Scott Reisser, a 22-year old student at the University of Delaware at the time he passed away. Scott's most cherished dream was to graduate; this fund will help make that dream come true for others attending college or vocational programs. Pediatric Neuro-Oncology Laboratory Project. A long-term goal and a key element of Making Headway's vision is to endow a Pediatric Neuro-Oncology Research Laboratory at NYU Langone Medical Center. Endowed Professorship of Pediatric Neuro-Oncology. In order to ensure that the current high level of leadership and commitment within the NYU Langone Medical Center's Pediatric Neuro-Oncology Program continues, Making Headway is in the process of endowing an Endowed Professorship In Pediatric Neuro-Oncology. This will enable more time to be devoted to clinical or basic research.
Donate Toys and Games. Making Headway welcomes the donation of new and safe children's toys, such as play toys, board and computer games. We distribute these gifts to children and their siblings at the Hassenfeld Children's Center for holidays, birthdays, end-of-chemotherapy parties and other events; we also use them to furnish the playroom.
